Want something with ergonomics? There are maybe 6-7 models in production, each one has something not quite right, and they all cost at least $170. Want a specific switch type? Either you have to buy the switches yourself and swap them into something swappable, or put up with 60% because that's the only form factor that tends to have them.

I'm reasonably happy with my C989M, the only real improvements it could have would be actual buckling springs and maybe some doubleshot PBT keycaps, but otherwise I can't complain.īut yeah, it feels like every keyboard is a compromise. And going the DIY route just means you're spending even more money as well as a bunch of time just so you can slap together something that will require a bunch of maintenance time afterwards because one little part messed up and the whole thing's screwed. If a media knob is important to you, Cloud Nine and Das both make keebs with them.īut yeah, it feels like every keyboard is a compromise. Keyboards seem so basic, but there are so many little features and options that make it so hard to find exactly what you want. I have a 10ish year old Logitech with just a cheap knob and you have so much more control than a roller. I don't get why everyone has gone to rollers - I much prefer knobs, but they seem super hard to find these days. It's actually a pretty nice volume roller if it is at all similar the one found on the G610 Orion which is my current keyboard in the office (with brown switches). In case anyone else is wondering, that bar in the upper-right is a volume adjustment. Play/Pause can tell Foobar2000 what to do or pause YouTube in the background.

After learning years ago not to use media keys on keyboards (on the family Gateway in 2002, I believe it would open Windows Media Player and play whatever was recently opened, or on other computers nothing at all), the integration is much tighter and better now. The hardware is smooth and responsive, and the buttons are soft-press but not awful capacitive things. The volume roller, if the same as the TKL, is super nice. My hands want to rest half a width off to the west and the east - the gap between D and F, or J and K. I love the G915 TKL and low profile but everything just seemed a little tight somehow, and now I've got data to back it up. Oh man, I thought I was just losing it but now I realize I've been gaslit by my keyboard for the last year-ish. I've never had to consciously do that before so I must have been reading the keycaps without realizing it. If I could have a G195 with wider key spacing (or larger keys?) my day would be a little brighter.Īctually, one more annoyance is the symbols are not lit on 1-0 so I find myself having to look carefully now and then to remind myself whether % is 5 or 6.

Hi guysI have a 2012 R2 Standard 64 domain controller that i would like to upgrade to the 2022 Standard 64, ive read a lot of articles saying that its possible to upgrade straight but ive also read that there are things to worry about that i should instal. Is the key size and spacing the same as the G915 TKL? My 915 has nice keys and the bluetooth + 2.4 GHz lets me swap between my work and gaming PCs, but the spacing is tighter than on my older keyboards so I find myself hitting the caps lock key when I hit shift, and a stray A sometimes gets added when hitting shift or control and keys around it.
